6. Player & Parent Behaviour Policy

This policy outlines the expected standards of conduct for all players and their parents or guardians involved in Excel Tennis programs, activities, and events.

It aims to foster a positive, respectful, and supportive environment that upholds the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and integrity across all levels of participation.

By adhering to this Code of Conduct, all players and parents contribute to maintaining a safe, enjoyable, and professional atmosphere for everyone within the Excel Tennis community.

Player Code of Conduct

General Conduct

Players at Excel Tennis venues are required to abide by general rules of conduct, which include:

  • Treat coaches, staff, fellow players, opponents, and officials with respect.
  • Play by the rules of tennis (or of the particular game assigned by their coach)
  • Demonstrate good sportsmanship — win or lose.
  • Respect the facilities and equipment and leave them in good condition.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and report any hazards or injuries immediately.
  • Wear appropriate tennis attire and maintain a neat appearance.

Players at Excel Tennis venues are not permitted to:

  • Play barefoot
  • Play with shoes that damage the court
  • Play without t-shirt or top
  • Use any illegal substances

Parent Code of Conduct

General Conduct

Parents / guardians at Excel Tennis are required to abide by general rules of conduct, which include:

  • Treat coaches, staff, players, other parent / guardians, and officials with respect.
  • Encourage and support players positively.
  • Refrain from coaching your child or other players during training sessions and matches.
  • Respect coaches’ decisions and program structure.
  • Ensure your child follows safety guidelines and uses equipment responsibly.
  • Refrain from being on court during your child’s sessions or matches unless requested or agreed by Excel Tennis. Excel Tennis only currently allows parents / guardians on court for Private Coaching lessons and on Court 1 on a Sunday due to limited seating, however, do not allow parents to interfere with the lesson.

Breach of Policy

Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action, including warnings, suspension, or expulsion from Excel Tennis programs. Excel Tennis reserves the right to suspend or terminate participation for breaches without refund.
